Beginning English – Level 1 (Kids)

Overview

Level 1 (Kids) introduces children to English through engaging, age-appropriate lessons. By the end of Level 1, learners will be able to understand and use basic English across familiar contexts, achieving CEFR A1 and preparing for Level 2 (A2).

Modules

Module 01: Home & Classroom Essentials

Module 01 introduces young beginners to the foundations of English communication in classroom and home contexts. Across 24 structured lessons, learners develop core skills in recognizing and pronouncing letters, following basic instructions, using classroom and home-related vocabulary, forming simple sentences, and responding to yes/no questions. Key themes include classroom objects, colors, numbers, family members, school supplies, rooms in a house, and food. Lessons also build control of pronouns, prepositions, and basic descriptive language. Pronunciation work focuses on the English alphabet, clear final sounds, and early sound contrasts such as “s” versus “sh” and “th”. By the end of the module, students can understand and respond to simple English about themselves and their surroundings and are prepared for the broader sentence structures and routines introduced in Module 02.

Objectives

Module 02: Daily Life & Adventures

Module 02 expands beginner learners’ ability to communicate in real-world and social contexts. Through 24 lessons, students develop vocabulary and sentence patterns to express feelings, routines, weather, chores, shopping, directions, celebrations, and more. Pronunciation work introduces consonant clusters, vowel contrasts, and sound pairs that are challenging for Vietnamese learners. Sentence structure lessons reinforce present simple and present continuous tenses, comparisons, and polite requests. By the end of the module, learners will be able to carry out short dialogues, describe familiar situations, and prepare for early A2-level conversation and storytelling.

Objectives

Module 03: People, Places & Stories

Module 03 strengthens students’ ability to describe people, places, and events using fuller, more connected sentences. It builds on previous modules by extending Wh- question patterns, introducing the past tense, and encouraging personal storytelling. Students combine previously learned structures like “because” and “then” to explain ideas and experiences with more detail. Vocabulary expands to include nature, community places, weekend activities, and feelings. Pronunciation work continues with blends (e.g., bl, tr, gr), final sounds, and sentence-level rhythm. By the end of the module, learners can participate in longer exchanges and describe events confidently, completing their path through Level 01 and preparing for A2-level learning.

Objectives

Module 04: Choices, Plans & Problem Solving

Module 04 helps learners consolidate key skills from Level 01 while building the confidence and range needed to handle early A2 tasks. The focus shifts toward using English to make choices, describe future plans, and respond to simple problems in familiar contexts. Students learn to use future forms like “going to,” make comparisons, express preferences, and explain ideas using full sentences. Practical vocabulary includes shopping, health, school tasks, and activities with friends. Pronunciation work includes final consonants, connected sounds, and natural speech flow. By the end of the module, learners will be able to plan, describe, and explain familiar situations and prepare to begin Level 02.

Objectives

Module 05: Real Talk & Ready to Go

Module 05 brings together the key skills learned throughout Level 01 and helps learners use English more confidently in conversations, descriptions, and everyday tasks. The focus is on fluency, real-life interaction, and readiness for Level 02. Students review core grammar and vocabulary through functional speaking activities, short reading and listening tasks, and project-based sharing. Light A2 forms such as “will” and “have to” are introduced naturally in context. By the end of the module, learners can express plans, needs, and ideas more clearly and take part in basic spoken and written communication independently.
